Cold forging

The metal is worked at room temperature, without preheating. Deformation occurs through pressure or drawing using tools such as rollers, dies, or presses.

Advantages:

  • No furnace or heat required
  • Cleaner, smoother metal surface
  • More efficient for series and repetitive production
  • Ideal for thinner profiles or light decorative elements

Disadvantages:

  • Requires more force and robust machinery
  • Cannot achieve extreme deformations
  • Less suitable for very hard or thick metals

Usage examples:

  • Decorative stamping on tubes or flat bars (NOA60 machine)
  • Cold twisting of bars (MT500A twisting machine)
  • Production of ornamental scrolls or spirals

What Materials Can the Forging Machine Process?

Forging machines are designed to deform metals through pressure or impact. Most are optimized for ferrous materials, but many can also process non-ferrous metals, depending on machine power and tool type.

Nargesa forging machines are especially effective with steel and iron, though aluminum and copper are also workable with proper adjustments.

Material-Specific Applications:

  • Aluminum and Light Alloys

    • Suitable for cold or hot forging with adjustable machinery and appropriate dies
    • Used for decorative pieces, casings, lightweight components, and furniture

  • Copper

    • Can be forged for decorative, artistic, or plumbing elements
    • Requires care to avoid oxidation and loss of detail
    • Common in restoration, bells, jewelry, or special finishes

  • Low-Carbon Steel

    • Most commonly used in professional forging
    • Can be machined or heat-treated afterwar
