Frequently Asked Questions about NARGESA  Hydraulic Presses for Hot Forging

What is the difference between a forging hydraulic press and a power hammer?

The main differences are speed and impact force. The Nargesa Forging Press or Hydraulic Forging Press is increasingly in demand for reasons beyond productivity and power: noise. The noise generated by a hydraulic press is practically zero, making it much more feasible to install in modern companies or near populated areas.

What materials can be worked with Nargesa forging hydraulic presses?

All types of ferrous materials can be worked: brass, bronze, gold, silver, etc. The most common is iron or steel of various grades. Practically the only way to work is hot, either with a coal forge, by induction, or gas furnace. The latter is increasingly used for its convenience, savings, and speed.

How is pressure and speed regulated in Nargesa forging hydraulic presses?

The Nargesa PV21 forging press has a power of 21 tons, more than enough to work hot steel. No pressure adjustment is necessary because it includes sensors that control the end-of-stroke, making work easier.
Other presses lack these end-of-stroke controls and require pressure regulators or less efficient systems. Execution speed is constant: one for lowering and one for raising the piston.

What types of tools and dies are compatible with these presses?

The PV21 press, thanks to its quick anchoring system and included support blocks, allows clients to easily manufacture any die. Additionally, Nargesa offers a wide catalog of standard and optional dies on request.

What maintenance do forging hydraulic presses require?

Maintenance is minimal: keep the columns clean and lubricated once a week. The rest of the machine requires no maintenance.

What advantages do Nargesa hydraulic presses offer compared to other forging systems?

The main advantages are noise and power.

  • Unlike other forging machines such as power hammers, the press produces almost no noise, not exceeding 65 decibels. This makes it much more suitable for operators, coworkers, or nearby residents.
  • Power: Measured in tons, not kilograms. The Nargesa PV21 applies 21 tons to hot iron, achieving high efficiency and, therefore, productivity.

Can Nargesa hydraulic presses be integrated into automated production lines?

On demand, these presses can be included in production lines, collaborative robots, or other systems. Supervision by a Nargesa engineer is required.
