Bending thin-wall square tubing often results in wrinkles on the inside of the bend, flattening, and loss of cross-section. In this article, we compare five methods for controlling that deformation and explain which one worked best for each type of job. The test was carried out using 40 × 40 mm tubing with a wall thickness of approximately 1.2–1.5 mm on an MC550 section and tube bending machine.
