In this video, we show how far deformation can be controlled in a demanding bending process. The challenge was bending a 40x40 mm square tube with 1.5 mm thickness while maintaining full control of internal deformation. We designed an ST52 steel die with 56–58 HRC hardness, featuring crowned machining and optimized side margins. Additional improvements include a planed entry for progressive bending, an aluminum bronze counterform, and simple CNC programming for repeatability and precision. Result: bending up to 180°, controlled deformation, and a clean finish.
