We continue with the tests to control and minimize deformation when bending 40 square tube with the MC550 tube and profile bending machine. In this second part, we carry out 3 different tests, filling the inside of the tube with different materials to see how each one affects the final bending result. First, we tested fine sand. The result is good and the improvement is clearly noticeable. Even so, we believe that if we had compressed the sand more inside the tube, the finish would possibly have been even better. Then we carried out the test with marble powder. In this case, there is also a significant improvement compared to the tube without filling, although the finish is not as smooth as in the fine sand test. Finally, we bent the tube filled with wax, previously cooled and solidified. And here came the surprise: the result was flawless. A very clean, uniform and visually spectacular finish. These tests help us compare different solutions for square tube bending, analysing how the internal filling, profile deformation and final finish of the tube faces are affected. In part 3, we will draw all the conclusions from these bending tests and share them this Friday.
