In this first video, we share several tests to try to control and minimize deformation when bending square tube with an MC550 tube and profile bending machine. The first option we tested was using a tube with greater wall thickness. It is a simple solution: by increasing the thickness, the tube responds differently during bending. In exchange, the material is more expensive and the final part weighs more. We also machined a roller so that it acts on a specific area of the tube. The idea is to decide where the deformation is applied during the process and keep the other faces as intact as possible, aiming for a cleaner visual finish. There is no single solution for all profiles, radii or finishes. That is why we are testing different alternatives and comparing the result of each one. In part 2, we will fill the tube with different materials to see what bending result each option offers. Have you bent tubes filled with any material? Which one do you think works best?
