Video: Die for heat exchangers and springs

In this video we show the development of a custom die to manufacture very small diameter heat exchangers. The project required an economical machine that would also allow the client to produce tooling internally. The client already used the MC550 section and tube bending machine to manufacture larger diameter heat exchangers, but needed a more compact solution for smaller diameters. The solution was the Ornamental Bending Machine MT150A, equipped with a die specifically designed for this application. The machine is now in production manufacturing small-diameter heat exchangers and solid springs. In this type of process it is essential to consider springback, the elastic recovery of the material, to ensure the final diameter, especially when working with very tight tolerances.
