In this video, we show whether it’s possible to punch beyond a machine’s capacity. Based on tonnage calculations, the operation exceeds the MX700’s 70-ton limit, meaning it shouldn’t be feasible. However, we apply a key method: first creating a smaller pre-hole, ensuring the punch diameter is greater than the sheet thickness. Then, we punch to the final diameter over that hole. This allows material to flow inward, reducing cutting resistance and enabling operation beyond the theoretical limit.
